Авторы заметки утверждают, что Обама не сможет участвовать в президентских выборах во Франции, поскольку является иностранцем. Однако, активисты предвыборной кампании Обамы просят французов массово заходить на сайт с петициями, чтобы проголосовать, а также для того, чтобы убедить Обаму решиться поучаствовать в президентских выборах.

Активисты, организовавшие кампанию «Обама-17», уверены в том, что в момент, когда вся Франция собирается голосовать за крайне правых, стране нужен президент Обама. Объясняя выбор кандидата, активисты напоминают, что на сегодняшний день у Обамы «лучшее резюме по работе».
