Кандидат в президенты Франции Франсуа Фийон, которого считают сторонником президента РФ Владимира Путина, назвал оккупированный Крым "исторически российской территорией", заявив, что РФ никогда не оставит полуостров.

Данное заявление лидер партии "Республиканцы" сделал в интервью газете Figaro, передает "РИА Новости".

"Бесполезно упрямиться и говорить о том, что Россия должна уйти из Крыма, этого никогда не произойдет… Никто не может отрицать, что Крым русский с исторической, культурной и лингвистической точек зрения", – сказал он.

По словам Фийона, в подходе к крымскому вопросу необходимо принимать в расчет два фундаментальных и противоречащих друг другу принципа: уважение границ и право народа на самоопределение.

Политик также заявил, что ситуация с Крымом может быть урегулирована с помощью специальной международной конференции под эгидой ООН.
