Близько 60% американців проголосували б за гідного кандидата в президенти, якби він був мусульманином.

Про це свідчать результати опитування, яке служба Геллапа провела в липні. Проте таку точку зору не розділяють ті, хто лідирує серед потенційних кандидатів у президенти від Республіканської партії, передає УНІАН, посилаючись на "Голос Америки".

В ході опитування виборці повинні були відповісти на питання, чи проголосували б вони за кандидата, якщо він був католиком, іудеєм, мормоном, протестантом, мусульманином або атеїстом. Результати виявилися дуже різними – від 93% за кандидата-католика до 58% – за атеїста.
