Facebook просить своїх британських і американських користувачів присилати адміністрації соцмережі власні оголені фото - аби допомогти їм уникнути так званої "порнопомсти".

Ідея такого кроку з боку Facebook полягає у тому, щоб заблокувати інтимні фото користувачів ще до того, як вони потраплять у мережу. Якщо ви раптом непокоїтеся, що хтось інший може поширити їх в інтернеті із недобрих мотивів.

Подібну технологію уже використовують для боротьби із дитячою порнографією. Facebook протестував систему в Австралії, тепер поширює її на Британію, США і Канаду

Якщо ви маєте світлини, через які непокоїтеся, у Facebook кажуть, що вам слід зв'язатися із їхнім партнером, який опікується цією проблемою - у Британії це гаряча лінія для допомоги жертвам порнопомсти. Її працівники відправлять вам посилання, за яким ви можете завантажити фотографії.

Як пояснює керівник служби безпеки Facebook Антігона Девіс, ці світлини побачить "лише дуже маленька група із близько п'яти спеціально навчених аналітиків".

Вони створять для кожної фотографії унікальний цифровий відбиток. Цей спеціальний код зберігатиметься у базі даних.

Якщо хтось інший спробує завантажити у Facebook, Instagram чи Messenger це ж саме фото, система розпізнає його відбиток і заблокує ще перед тим, як воно з'явиться онлайн.

У базі даних зберігатимуться лише унікальні коди фотографій - оригіналів там не буде.
