Що ж, компанія Facebook знала, що робить, намагаючись змусити все більше і більше користувачів встановити додаток Facebook Messenger.
 

Facebook-боти зможуть розсилати своїм підписникам промо-повідомлення. Обмеження, яке встановила компанія: бот зможе писати користувачеві не частіше, ніж один раз на добу (24 годин від моменту останнього контакту з користувачами, - ред.). Цей ліміт не застосовується щодо «шаблонних» повідомлень: квитанцій про оплату, сповіщень про бронювання, тощо. Також повідомлення не повинні бути рекламними, пише Media Sapiens

Компанія Facebook обмежила функцію повідомлень у межах соцмережі на початку літа. Для користувачів мобільної версії сайту аідправа повідомлень тепер можлива лише через додаток Facebook Messenger.

Видання TechCrunch тоді розцінило таку політкиу компанії як «ворожу»: мобільну версію сайту відвідують багато людей, які не хочуть завантажувати додаток. Деякі користувачі скаржаться, що не хочуть використовувати Messenger, оскільки він швидше розряджає акумулятор. Окрім того, користувачі занепокоєні безпекою своїх особистих даних.

Однак, вже наприкінці липня Facebook відзвітувала про збільшення щомісячної аудиторії Facebook Messenger до позначки 1 млрд користувачів.
