Министр международного развития Великобритании Грант Шеппс ушел в отставку из-за давления прессы и сразу после того, как родители человека, убитого при неизвестных обстоятельствах, выдвинули соответствующее требование.

Об этом в субботу сообщило издание Daily Mail, пишет Укринформ

В письме британскому премьеру Дэвиду Кэмерону Шеппс написал, что ему стоило «быстрее реагировать на обвинения в адрес Марка Кларка (члена Консервативной партии — ред)».

Ранее пресса обвинила Шеппса в бездействии в ситуации с запугиванием человека.

Стоит уточнить, что смысл обвинений заключался в том, что будучи сопредседателем Консервативной партии, Шеппс не предпринял мер против активиста молодежной организации консерваторов Марка Кларка, которого 21-летний подданный Великобритании Эллиот Джонсон обвинял в запугивании. Позже Джонсон был найден мертвым.

Издание сообщает, что родители убитого в субботу утром поставили требование к Шеппсу и его коллеге, спикеру Консервативной партии лорду Фелдману, сложить свои полномочия.
