Телевизионная премия International Emmy Awards в категории «Новости» присуждена репортажам британского телеканала Sky News, посвященным исходу беженцев из Сирии, сообщает ТАСС.

"Экстраординарные и печальные события на Ближнем Востоке подняли на новую высоту планку для отважной журналистики, для целеустремленных репортеров, фотографов и съемочных бригад", - отметил президент Международной академии телевизионных наук и искусств, которая присуждает эту награду, Брюс Пейзнер.

За награду в этой категории также боролись катарский спутниковый телеканал «Аль-Джазира», бразильская телекомпания Globo и российский пропагандистский RT. 

«Эмми» - американская премия в области телевидения, которая вручается ежегодно в разных областях телеиндустрии. Отдельные церемонии проводятся для программ, транслируемых в прайм-тайм (время наиболее активного просмотра ТВ в течение суток) и в дневное время, спортивных, новостных и документальных передач. Также отдельно вручаются награды в «технических» номинациях, международные и региональные «Эмми».
