BuzzFeed запустив BuzzBot, автоматичного чат бота для додатку Facebook Messenger.
 

Бот, розроблений Buzzfeed Open Lab, може вести прості розмови з користувачами та збирати новини про Республіканську національну конвенцію, яка відбудеться 18-21 липня в США, пише Media Sapiens

Користувачі можуть відкрити додаток Facebook Messenger і ввести в пошукBuzzfeed News, відкривши діалог. BuzzBot спершу поставить кілька уточнюючих питань: чи слідкує користувач за новинами, чи перебуває він у Клівленді (місці проведення конвенції - ред.), чи підтримує він протести в місті?

Якщо користувач живе в Клівленді, BuzzBot попросить надіслати смайлик, який на думку користувача найкращим чином передає йогопочуття з приводу конвенції.  Якщо ж користувач приїхав на конвенцію або бере участь в протестах,  бот просить відправити фотографії або відео того, що відбувається навколо.

Редакція  BuzzFeed створила окрему команду, яка працює із матеріалом, зібраним за допомогою BuzzBot. Створений користувачами контент - не нова концепція. Наприклад, CNN запустив iReport в 2006 році. А зростаюча популярність соціальним мереж породила легіони очевидців- кореспондентів.
