Високий представник ЄС із зовнішніх справ та політики безпеки Федеріка Могеріні розглядається як один із вірогідних лауреатів на отримання Нобелівської премії миру у 2017 році.

Таку думку висловив директор Інституту дослідження миру (м. Осло) Генрік Урдал, повідомляє Укрінформ.

На думку експерта, цього року Норвезький Нобелівський комітет серед важливих світових подій, які сприяли утвердженню миру, розглядає успішне завершення переговорів щодо іранської ядерної програми (2015 рік).

У цьому процесі велику роль зіграв Євросоюз, зокрема й особисто Могеріні.

Як повідомляє Нобелівський комітет, номінантами на премію миру в 2017 році зареєстровано 318 кандидатів, серед яких 215 осіб та 103 організації.

Лауреати Нобелівської премії миру будуть названі 6 жовтня, а церемонія нагородження пройде у грудні.

2 жовтня Нобелівська премія в області медицини була присуджена за відкриття молекулярного механізму, що контролює циркадні ритми. Лауреатами премії стали Джеффрі Холл, Майкл Росбаш і Майкл Янг.
