Засновник соціальної мережі Facebook Марк Цукерберг оголосив про рішення пожертвувати на благодійність 99% своїх акцій компанії, пише Forbes

За словами Цукерберга, акції, що належать йому самому і його дружині Прісциллі Чан, буде поступово передано у спеціальний благодійний фонд. Вартість акцій оцінюють у 45 млрд доларів.

Завданням фонду Цукерберга і Чан стане створення рівних умов розвитку для всіх дітей у світі. Зокрема, організація займатиметься індивідуальним навчанням і лікуванням важко хворих дітей.

При цьому Цукерберг має намір і далі очолювати соціальну мережу і розвивати її. Він повернеться до обов'язків після відпустки, пов'язаної з тим, що 1 грудня в нього народилася дочка Макс.

Як зазначає українська служба ВВС, раніше Цукерберг уже неодноразово жертвував на благодійність акції Facebook, проте до цього вартість подарованих цінних паперів не перевищувала півмільярда доларів.

З 2010 року Цукерберг бере участь у проекті мільярдерів Білла Гейтса і Воррена Баффета. Його учасники зобов'язуються заповідати основну частину своїх статків на добродійність або підтримувати благодійність за життя.

Соціальну мережу Facebook було запущено 2006 року. Сьогодні її місячна аудиторія перевищує мільярд осіб, що робить її найбільшою соцмережею у світі. Цукерберг завдяки Facebook став наймолодшим мільярдером на планеті.
