Американская группа The Crystal Method заявила, что возражает против использования своей музыки в видео о военной операции в Сирии, сделанном ВГТРК. Музыканты утверждают, что российская телекомпания без разрешения взяла их трек High Roller для сопровождения «шокирующего дрон-видео», пишет Лента.ру

«The Crystal Method не хочет попустительствовать насилию в разрешении какого бы то ни было конфликта. Наши сердца с жителями Сирии, пострадавшими от этой ужасной войны», — говорится в заявлении группы. Музыканты потребовали удалить этот ролик ВГТРК с YouTube, но его так быстро растиражировали, что, по словам участников The Crystal Method, «контролировать распространение уже невозможно». Съемки с беспилотника показывают ход военной операции в пригороде Дамаска.

The Crystal Method — американский электронный дуэт, существующий с 1993 года. Его музыка звучит во многих фильмах — «Блэйд», «Угнать за 60 секунд», «Техасская резня бензопилой», «Хитмен» и других. Композиция High Roller вышла в их дебютном альбоме 1997 года Vegas.

С 30 сентября Россия проводит в Сирии воздушную операцию против запрещенной в РФ террористической организации «Исламское государство». С просьбой об оказании военной помощи к Москве обратился сирийский лидер Башар Асад. Помимо России удары по террористам с сентября 2014 года наносят силы коалиции из 65 стран во главе с США — их альянс действует с августа 2014 года. Предполагается, что вмешательство России ограничится авиаударами, наземной операции не будет.
