Донька вбитого 2000 року українського журналіста Георгія Гонгадзе - 18-річна Соломія - стала молодіжним губернатором штату Вірджинія.

Про це на своїй сторінці в Facebook повідомила Мирослава Гонгадзе.

За словами Мирослави, за роки існування програми молодіжного уряду у Вірджинії - штаті консервативному і патріархальному - останні 17 років дівчину не обирали губернатором.

Вона зазначила, що Соломія змогла "вибороти право жінки на цю посаду, підписувати і ветувати закони, на яких більше 600 молодих делегатів з усього штату вчаться законотворчості" і навіть "написала і добиласяухвалення закону про декретну відпустку для жінок, якої в США також не існує".
