Перед президентскими выборами в США Объединенные Арабские Эмираты и Саудовская Аравия обращались к Дональду Трампу с предложением помочь ему одержать победу. 

Как информирует PRпортал, об этом говорится в материале издания Нью-Йорк Таймс. Отмечается, что летом 2016 года Дональд Трамп-младший проводил встречу с Джорджем Нэйдером в одном из небоскребов Трампа. Нэйдер представлял интересы арабских стран и заявлял, что представители ОАЭ и Саудовской Аравии готовы помочь Трампу на выборах. На встрече также присутствовал израильский политтехнолог Джоел Замел, который озвучил возможности своей фирмы по предоставлению преимуществ политической кампании и предложил план проведения кампании в социальных сетях. Однако неизвестно, принял или нет это предложение сын Трампа. 

Между тем, один из адвокатов сына Трампа сообщил изданию, что такая встреча действительно была, но представители арабского мира предлагали только проект, связанный с соцсетями, но Трамп-младший не высказал заинтересованности. После этого, как уверяет адвокат, все контакты были прекращены.
