Організатори Thomson Foundation Young Journalist Award назвали фіналістів цьогорічного конкурсу, пише Media Sapiens.
 
 

Конкурс проводиться вже вп’яте й цього року на нього подалися більше 236 журналістів з 60 країн. Фіналістками конкурсу стали Махам Джаваід (Maham Javaid) з Пакистану, Мар'яна Мотрунич та Катерина Сергацкова з України.

Фіналісти були вибрані серед 12 конкурсантів, які увійшли в шорт-лист Thomson Foundation Young Journalist Award та отримають сертифікати відзнаки своїх робіт. Переможця конкурсу буде оголошено в понеділок, 20 листопада 2017 року.

Найджел Бейкер (Nigel Baker), виконавчий директор Thomson Foundation, відзначив, що цей рік був дуже успішним для конкурсу з точки зору поданих заявок: цього року їх було удвічі більше, ніж попереднього. «Цього року ми отримали дуже різноманітні історії й з різних країн. Це справді чудове відображення позитивного впливу медіа», - прокоментував він.

Минулого року конкурс виграла репортерка з Судану Юсора Ельбагір (Yousra Elbagir),  яка ініціювала та модерувала публічну дискусію в Twitter щодо того, як жителі Судані живуть під санкціями з боку США та торговельним ембарго.
