Бывший министр финансов Греции Янис Варуфакис объявил во вторник, 9 февраля, в Берлине о создании нового политического объединения "Движение за демократию в Европе 2025" (DiEM25). По словам Варуфакиса, речь идет о создании не новой партии, а движения, открытого для всех политических сил Европы - левых, зеленых, социалистов и либералов, передает DW.

"Быстрый распад Европы необходимо остановить", - заявил политик.

Говоря о нынешнем миграционном кризисе, Варуфакис призвал европейские государства отказаться от возведения новых стен. По его словам, правительства многих стран просто не желают видеть проблемы "у своих дверей", однако "прятать голову в песок" - это не решение, подчеркнул политик.

Новое движение Варуфакис представил вместе с хорватским писателем Среко Хорватом, который процитировал известную фразу Ангелы Меркель (Angela Merkel) о миграционном кризисе - "мы справимся".

Янис Варуфакис ушел в отставку с поста министра финансов Греции 6 июля 2015 года после того, как в ходе состоявшегося накануне референдума более 61 процента греческих избирателей сказали "нет" реформам, на которых настаивали международные кредиторы.
