Президент Турции Реджеп Тайип Эрдоган заявил, что если оппозиция обнаружит у него в резиденции хоть один золотой унитаз, он готов уйти в отставку.

Ранее лидер Республиканской народной партии Кемаль Кылычдароглу обвинил Эрдогана в неумеренном расточительстве государственных средств,пишет ВВС

"Господа в Анкаре, для вас построены дворцы, куплены самолеты, заказаны Мерседесы...куплены золотые сиденья [в туалете]", - заявил Кылычдароглу, выступая на митинге в субботу.

Эрдоган въехал в новый президентский комплекс с более чем 1000-ю комнатами вскоре после победы на президентских выборах.

При этом обвинения оппозиционера президент отверг.

"Я приглашаю его [Кылычдароглу] прийти и совершить прогулку...Я очень удивлюсь, если он сможет найти хоть одно золотое сиденье туалета в какой-либо из ванных комнат", - заявил Эрдоган в воскресном телевизионном интервью.

"Если он его найдет, я подам в отставку с поста президента", - добавил Эрдоган.

В ближайшие выходные в Турции должны состояться парламентские выборы.
