Facebook змінила своє ставлення до механізму роботи профілю, після смерті його користувача.

Зокрема, світова мережа почне дозволяти юзерам призначати "спадкоємця" (legacy contact) сторінки, який зміг би частково керувати профілем померлого. Як повідомляє The Wall Street Journal зазначає, що користувач, якого обрали, матиме змогу відмовитися від статусу "спадкоємця".

Раніше Facebook автоматично заморожував сторінки людей, які померли. Між тим, це викликало невдоволення рідних, які таким чином прагнули замінити фізичну присутність родича або друга.

Отож, якщо соціальна мережа дала доступ до профілю, на сторінку можна завантажити архів фотографій із померлим, але не буде можливості редагувати попередні записи та не дозволить читати приватні повідомлення.

Будучи спадкоємцем, контакт відрізнятиметься від простого входу на сторінку померлого. Спадкоємець не зможе редагувати записи, які були розміщені раніше на сторінці померлого. Крім того, він не зможе приймати рішення про видалення профілю.

Для активації функції потрібно зайти до "налаштувань" і обрати "безпеку". А тоді в нижній частині сторінки обрати "контакт спадкоємця".
