Facebook працює над новим інструментом, який може допомогти новинним організаціям залучати більше платних підписок, пише Media Sapiens
 

The New York Times описує розробку подібного інструменту як «спробу покращити складні стосунки між соцмережею та медіа-компаніями».  Функция буде базуватися на вже існуючому сервісі  Instant Articles, який дозволяє відкривати матеріали, опубліковані медіа, безпосередньо в новинній стрічці. Так, після 10 прочитаних матеріалів від одного видання, користувачам буде пропонуватися оформити на нього підписку.

Facebook планує запустити тестову версію з невеликою групою видань, які використовують цей інструмент, у жовтні. Якщо отримані результати будуть позитивними, цей сервіс розширять в 2018 році. Які саме медіа візьмуть участь в тестуванні не повідомляється.

Глава Facebook з новинного партнерства Кемпбелл Браун (Campbell Brown) розповіла, що компанія знаходиться на «ранній стадії переговорів» з декількома редакціями. Співпраця здійснюватиметься в рамках проекту Facebook Journalism Project, створеного соцмережею для взаємодії з журналістами.

Нещодавно американські медіа об’єдналися проти Facebook та Google, створивши організацію The News Media Alliance. NMA сподівається, що таким чином медіа зможуть вести «конкретні обговорення з двома домінуючими дистриб'юторами інтернет-новин, Google і Facebook, про бізнес-моделі, які забезпечать доступність контенту, створеного американськими редакціями».
