Компанія Facebook опублікувала в якості реклами в кількох найбільших видання Великобританії повідомлення з попередженням про можливе поширення неправдивих новин в соцмережі напередодні майбутніх виборів до парламенту, що мають відбутися 8 червня, - повідомляє Укрінформ.

Представник компанії Саймон Мілнер заявив, що співробітникам Facebook вдалося розробити нові механізми для виявлення та видалення фейкових профілів, які часто створюють для поширення в соціальній мережі неправдивих новин. Поки до позачергових парламентських виборів в Сполученому Королівстві залишається лише місяць, у Facebook закликають користувачів соціальної мережі більш критично аналізувати заголовки, які і можуть здаватись сенсаціями на перший погляд, а також завжди шукати першоджерело новин, перш ніж поширити відповідну публікацію.Крім того, компанія радить користувачам уважно перевіряти URL та справжність фотознімків.
