Bloomberg сообщает, что расшифровкой записей занимались сторонние подрядчики, о чем пользователей не информировали.

Компания Facebook Inc. платила сотням сторонних подрядчиков за то, чтобы они расшифровывали голосовые сообщения пользователей сервисов, принадлежащих корпорации. Об этом сообщает Bloomberg со ссылкой на источники, знакомые с соответствующей работой подрядчиков. В Facebook признали, что расшифровывали сообщения, но заверили, что больше такого не делают.

В заявлении компании, которое приводит агентство, сказано, что расшифровка звуковых сообщений прекратилась «более недели назад». В нем также указано, что пользователи, чьи сообщения подвергались расшифровке, соглашались на это, выбирая специальную опцию в приложении Messenger для Facebook.

«Подрядчики проверяли правильность расшифровки [голосовых] сообщений искусственным интеллектом Facebook», — объясняет компания.
