Соцсеть Facebook готовится к тестированию нового сервиса – платной подписки, которая даст издателям возможность разрабатывать новые медиапродукты и монетизировать их, сообщает Sostav.ru.

Facebook позволит СМИ размещать набор бесплатных статей, остальные же будут предоставляться платным подписчикам. Таким образом соцсеть пошла на уступки издателям: они получат доступ ко всем данным читателей, чтобы лучше понять свою аудиторию, и полный контроль над ценообразованием. Каждый издатель сможет повторить свой собственный формат на Facebook.

По информации издания Digiday UK, до конца года соцсеть планирует протестировать новую функцию с небольшой группой издателей, а затем расширить их число в 2018 году. Так, уже ведутся переговоры с The New York Times, Tronc, Hearst, The Economist, немецкой Bild и британской The Telegraph.

"Мы уже в курсе новой функции и продолжаем обдумывать вопрос нашего участия. Пока мы не видим большой выгоды", – сказал старший исполнительный директор The New York Times.

Напомним, ранее медиакорпорация News Corp., владеющая The Wall Street Journal, The Times, Dow Jones, New York Post и др., начала переговоры с Facebook о монетизации и продвижении контента своих изданий. По словам исполнительного директора News Corp. Роберта Томсона, компании находимся на "продвинутой стадии по вопросам механики подписки".
