О появлении нового сервиса говорится в сообщении компании. Сервис мгновенных денежных переводов доступен только пользователям соцсети в США.

Чтобы переслать деньги кому-либо из друзей в Facebook, необходимо нажать на значок $, выбрать нужную сумму, нажать на кнопку «Pay» и добавить карту Visa или MasterCard, с которой будут списаны деньги. Facebook отмечает, что в зависимости от банка деньги могут оказаться в распоряжении получателя от 1 до 3 банковских дней. Комиссия за перевод взиматься не будет,сообщает РБК

В Facebook создадут специальный отдел, который будет бороться с возможными случаями мошенничества посредством сервиса переводов. Дополнительно перевод средств можно будет защитить пин-кодом и сенсором Touch ID.

В октябре 2014 года студент Стэнфордского университета Эндрю Од взломал мобильное приложение Facebook на своем iPhone и обнаружил уже готовый сервис денежных переводов через мессенджер, официально о запуске которого компания объявила только сейчас.

Осенью прошлого года возможность пользоваться системой денежных переводов получили пользователи Twitter во Франции. Партнером соцсети стало S-money — подразделение банковской группы Groupe BPCE
