Документальна стрічка Віддалений гавкіт собак (The Distant Barking of Dogs) про 10-річного хлопчика з Донбасу була включена в шорт-лист премії Оскар в категорії Найкращий документальний фільм. Список був опублікований на сайті Оскара.

Картина розповідає історію 10-річного хлопчика, який живе з бабусею поблизу військових дій на Донбасі. Зйомки фільму тривали в селі Гнутове в Донецькій області в 2015-2017 роках.

Даний населений пункт розташований поблизу Маріуполя на підконтрольній Україні території.

Однак ця місцевість часто потрапляє під обстріл, оскільки лінія фронту розташована зовсім поруч.

Прем'єра фільму відбулася 19 листопада 2017 року.

Стрічка вже брала участь в низці фестивалів та стала володарем п'яти престижних нагород, серед яких - премії фестивалю Docudays UA та одного з найбільш авторитетних фестивалів документального кіно в Амстердамі (IDFA).
