Бывший кандидат в президенты Франции, правоцентрист Франсуа Фийон заявил, что у него «нет легитимности» возглавить борьбу своей партии на парламентских выборах этим летом.
Заявление Фийон озвучил на встрече с руководством партии «Республиканцы», передает Европейская правда со ссилкой на Le Figaro.
«Я больше не владею легитимностью, чтобы вести за собой партию в бой на парламентских выборах», — сказал Фийон, добавив, что намерен «вновь стать преданным активистом», который будет «иначе вести свою жизнь».
«Начинается еще одна битва. Я убежден, «Республиканцы» могут получить благоприятный результат и принести пользу для Франции», — добавил Фийон.
Парламентские выборы во Франции состоятся 11 и 18 июня.
Напомним, Франсуа Фийон не сумел пройти во второй тур президентских выборов во Франции. Он занял третье место с 20% голосов избирателей.
По поддержке Фийона существенно ударил скандал с женой Пенелопой, которую обвиняли в фиктивном трудоустройстве и получении нелегальной зарплаты из госбюджета.
