Журнал Fortune представил ежегодный рейтинг мировых лидеров (World’s Greatest Leaders). Первое место в рейтинге 2015 года занял глава Apple Тим Кук. На вторую строчку журнал поставил главу Европейского Центробанка Марио Драги, третье место занял глава КНР Си Цзиньпин.

На четвертом месте в рейтинге мировых лидеров находится главаРимско-католической церкви Франциск, пятым стал премьер-министрИндии Нарендра Моди. Шестую строчку заняла американская певица Тейлор Свифт.

В первую десятку рейтинга мировых лидеров также вошли: глава международной неправительственной организации «Врачи без границ» (MSF) Джоанн Лиу, председатель Верховного суда США Джон Робертс, генеральный директор General Motors Мэри Барра и Джошуа Вонг, гонконгский активист студенческого движения, лидер «Революции зонтиков».

Всего в рейтинг мировых лидеров, составленный Fortune, входят 50 человек. Представителей России и стран бывшего СССР в нем нет.

При составлении рейтинга мировых лидеров, сообщил Fortune, учитывались не только формальные властные полномочия его участников — членов правительств или руководителей компаний, но, в первую, способность вдохновлять и вести за собой людей.
 
В работе над рейтингом принимали участие 20 экспертов из разных областей, однако, подчеркивается в статье Fortune, их мнение учитывалось, но окончательное решение оставалось за редакцией.
 
Рейтинг мировых лидеров в 2015 году Fortune представил во второй раз. Лидером первого рейтинга, опубликованного в 2014 году, был папа римский Франциск. Второе место тогда заняла канцлер ФРГ Ангела Меркель, третьим был гендиректор Ford Алан Малалли. В рейтинг 2015 года ни Меркель, ни Малалли не попали. Лидер рейтинга 2015 года Тим Кук годом ранее был лишь на 33-м месте.
