Компанія Google закриє свою соціальну мережу Google+ вже в квітні через витік даних 52,5 мільйонів акаунтів.

Про це компанія заявила в понеділок, пише Media Sapiens із посиланням на Reuters.

Раніше повідомлялося, що Google+ працюватиме до серпня 2019 року. Компанія повідомила, що причиною рішення стала вразливість соцмережі, яка існувала з 2015 року й давала стороннім розробникам доступ до особистих даних приблизно півмільйона її користувачів. А також її низька популярність. Компанія оголосила про це за кілька годин після публікації розслідування видання The Wall Street Journal.

Причиною пришвидшення закриття соцмережі стала вже друга помилка в системі конфіденційності, яка відкрила стороннім додаткам доступ до приватних даних 52,5 млн акаунтів. Це зокрема імена, електронна пошта, стать і вік.

Однак у Google наголосили, що поки немає ніяких доказів того, що хтось встиг скористатися цим доступом.

Раніше в компанії пообіцяли надати користувачам всі можливості для того, щоб ті могли перенести з мережі свою інформацію. Крім того, Google запевнила, що скеруває багато зусиль для покращення безпеки даних своїх користувачів.

Нагадаємо, у вересні стало відомо, що наприкінці березня 2019 року припинить роботу поштовий сервіс Google Inbox. Компанія вирішила зосередитися на іншому своєму популярному поштовому сервісі —Gmail.

В грудні компанія повідомила, що закриє й свій сервіс Hangouts, а користувачі натомість матимуть перейти на сервіси Hangouts Chat та Hangouts Meet, які раніше були орієнтовані на бізнес.
