Британская газета The Guardian вышла с фотографией украинской финалистки "Евровидения" на обложке. Передовицу номера от 14 мая украсил снимок Джамалы, который сопровождается заголовком "Ты слышишь, Путин?".

Издание также посвятило представительнице Украины большую статью, касающуюся политических аспектов ее песни.

"Европейцы могут показать, что они "не равнодушны к страданиям" в Крыму, который был аннексирован Россией, голосуя за Украину на конкурсе Евровидение", – пишет The Guardian.

Журналист издания подчеркивает, что исторический контекст песни "1944" касается как депортации крымских татар, так и нынешней ситуации на полуострове. В статье уделено внимание политической ситуации в оккупированном Россией Крыму и репрессиям в отношении крымских татар, передает ZN.

"Если я выиграю, это будет означать, что современные европейцы не безразличны, и готовы услышать о боли других людей и готовы сочувствовать", – цитирует газета Джамалу.
