Такой же риф оказался под угрозой в Амазонке».
Коралловый риф находится на севере Бразилии в устье реки Амазонки и является одной из самых обширных в мире рифовых систем, занимая площадь в 9300 квадратных километров. В этом месяце власти либо разрешат, либо запретят бурение скважин возле этой экосистемы. По подсчетам Greenpeace, любой разлив нефти имеет 30% шансов достичь рифа.
Напомним, BP все еще оправляется после последствий катастрофы, которая произошла на нефтяной платформе «Глубоководный горизонт», когда 5 млн галлонов нефти вылилось в Мексиканский залив.
