Архів розміром в 9,7 Гб, що містить логіни і паролі, а також імена та адреси 32 мільйонів користувачів сайту, був розміщений у вівторок на сайті з доменом .onion. Крім того, в архіві міститься історія проплат картками клієнтів, починаючи з 2007 року.

Як сказано в заяві власника сайту, компанії Avid Life Media, до розслідування викрадення даних приєдналося ФБР. Також у розслідуванні беруть участь кілька департаментів канадської поліції.

Сайт Ashley Madison заявив, що його послугами користуються приблизно 37 мільйонів користувачів в понад 50 країнах.

«Життя коротке. Заведи інтрижку», - закликає головна сторінка сайту знайомств.

Сайт належить канадській компанії Avid Life Media, яка засудила «неспровоковане і злочинне зазіхання» на інформацію своїх клієнтів.
