Єгипетський інвестор Нагіб Савіріс (Naguib Sawiris) купує 53% акцій міжнародного телеканалу Euronews за 35 мільйонів євро.

Тепер єгипетський мільярдер є власником контрольного пакета акцій телеканалу. Ці кошти дозволять Euronews інвестувати у свій розвиток,пише Media Sapiens

«Впродовж останніх п’яти років ми відносно мало інвестували у цифрову складову. Наш вибір був простий: або зростаємо, або обрізаємо крила», - сказав виконавчий директор телекомпанії Міхаель Петерс (Michael Peters).

У 2011 році Петерс впровадив новий стратегічний план для каналу. Він потребував нових фінансових вливань, що було схвально сприйнято акціонерами, додав менеджер.

Euronews мовить 24 години на добу 7 днів на тиждень 13 мовами: арабською, англійською, французькою, німецькою, грецькою, угорською, італійською, перською, португальською, російською, іспанською, турецькою та українською. На телеканалі працює близько 400 журналістів. Доступ до нього має 400 мільйонів домогосподарств у 155 країнах світу.
