Голова Європарламенту Антоніо Таяні виключив можливість визнання незалежності Каталонії Європейським Союзом, повідомляє сьогодні, 29 жовтня, передає ТСН із посиланням на Associated Press.

Він заявив, що "ніхто і ніколи" не визнає регіон, який вирішив оголосити про своє відокремлення від країни, самостійною державою. А референдум, що відбувся у Каталонії 27 жовтня, назвав незаконним і висловив надію на якнайшвидше відновлення цілісності країни.

Також Таяні зазначив, що ЄС не втручатимется у конфлікт, оскільки він є внутрішньою справою Іспанії.

Нагадаємо, минулої п'ятниці депутати парламенту Каталонії проголосували за проголошення незалежності від Іспанії. Мадрид слідом за цим рішенням відсторонив від роботи виконавчу владу Каталонії, розпустив регіональний парламент.
