Увечері 25 травня 2015 на офіційному сайті МВС України було опубліковано повідомлення про внесення до Єдиного реєстру досудових розслідувань інформації майже 20-річної давності за двома фактами правопорушень, нібито пов'язаних з неправомірними діями якихось "невстановлених осіб" щодо телеканалу "Інтер".

Телеканал вважає приводи оголошеного досудового розслідування - безпідставними і абсурдними. 

Про це йдеться у заяві каналу. 

"Цілком очевидно, що це чергова політична атака з боку влади в особі МВС України та представників "Народного фронту" на власників і колектив "Інтера", яка здійснюється з метою незаконного рейдерського захоплення найпопулярнішого українського телеканалу.

Ми розцінюємо такі кроки як тиск на свободу слова і системний наступ на незалежні ЗМІ, пов'язаний з тим, що в новинах на телеканалі "Інтер" виходять матеріали про корупцію в уряді.

Ми вбачаємо в цих діях серйозну загрозу свободі слова і всім незалежним ЗМІ в Україні і розцінюємо подібні дії з боку політиків і силових структур як прямий шлях до жорсткої цензури і диктатури. Ми виступаємо проти політичного тиску на телеканал "Інтер" і всі незалежні ЗМІ.", - йдеться в заяві.
