Глава Чечни Рамзан Кадыров рассказал, что на демонстрацию против публикации карикатур на пророка Мухаммеда в республике может выйти более миллиона человек. Об этом он написал 18 января в своем инстаграме.

Подготовка к акции обсуждалась на совещании Кадырова с главами городов и районов Чечни, а также руководители министерств и ведомств, депутатов, представителей духовенства и правоохранительных органов.

«Я подчеркнул, что считаю своими личными врагами всех, кто поддерживает "право" "Шарли Эбдо" и других изданий оскорблять религиозные чувства полтора млрд мусульман», — говорится в сообщении.

В то же время Кадырова призвал не «поддаваться на провокации», подчеркнув, что «насилие — не выход».

По его словам, миллион предполагаемых участников демонстрации — это жители не только Чечни, но и многих других регионов России.

Численность населения Чечни, по данным Росстата на 1 января 2014 года, составляет 1,3 миллиона человек.

Акция протеста против публикации карикатур на лидеров ислама пройдет в центре Грозного 19 января в формате шествия, которое закончится митингом. Как сообщили власти Чечни, инициатором проведения мероприятия выступило республиканское духовенство. Для участия в манифестации, как рассказали в администрации республики, должны прибыть известные религиозные деятели из других регионов.
