Австрійський канцлер Вернер Файманн у понеділок, 9 травня, оголосив, що йде у відставку.

Про це йдеться у повідомленні, поширеному на сайті його канцелярії, передає Інтерфакс-Україна.

У документі зазначається, що він прийняв таке рішення через те, що він не користується достатньою підтримкою серед однопартійців, соціал-демократів.

Рішення про відставку набуває чинності негайно, наголошується у повідомленні.

Вернер Файманн був обраний канцлером Австрії і вступив на посаду у грудні 2008 року. Палата представників часто критикувала його за відсутність рішучості у посиленні закону про імміграцію.
