Кандидатами на вибори президента Чехії, які відбудуться 12-13 січня наступного року, зареєструвалися 18 осіб.

Про це повідомиляє Європейська правда із посиланням на прес-служба МВС Чехії.

Реєстрація кандидатів завершилась напередодні. МВС розкриє імена кандидатів, які подали кандидатуру, лише 24 листопада - після прийняття рішення про реєстрацію або відмову кандидатам на пост президента республіки.

Для реєстрації кандидатом необхідно було зібрати 50 тисяч підписів або заручитися підтримкою 20 депутатів нижньої палати парламенту або 10 членів Сенату.

Вже відомо, що переобратися на другий термін спробує чинний президент Мілош Земан. Його основним опонентом є позапартійний кандидат, відомий вчений-хімік та колишній президент Чеської академії наук Їржі Драгош.

В останній момент в боротьбу за пост президента вступив екс-прем'єр Мірек Тополанек, якого розглядають як одного з основних суперників Земана.
