Клінтон набрала 65 844 610 голосів (48,2%) проти 62 979 636 голосів у Трампа (46,1%).

З вибірників від штатів Трамп набрав 304 голоси проти 227 у Клінтон.

Саме число вибірників вирішує, хто стане президентом США. Всі голоси вибірників від конкретного штату відходять переможцю народного голосування.

Інші кандидати набрали 5,7% голосів виборців.

Востаннє демократ програвав республіканцю з більшою кількістю голосів у 2000 році: тоді демократ Гор випередив Буша-мол. на 500 тис. голосів.
