Як повідомляє Російська служба Бі-бі-сі, причиною стало розслідування видання Newsweek про те, що компанії, які контролював Трамп, нібито таємно вели бізнес на Кубі в період, коли це було заборонено через санкції, введених США проти режиму Фіделя Кастро.

У розслідуванні Newsweek мова йде про компанії Trump Hotels & Casino Resorts, яка, за даними видання, витратила в 1998 році близько 68 тисяч доларів на поїздку на Кубу. В цей час американським компаніям було заборонено витрачати гроші на острові без спеціального дозволу. Компанія Трампа оформила витрати на поїздку на Кубу через американську консалтингову фірму.

За даними видання, Трамп знав про організацію поїздки.

Клінтон підкреслила, що дії Трампа показують, що він ставить свої ділові та особисті інтереси вище законів США і цінностей проводиться їй політики.

Представник виборчого штабу Трампа заявив, що гроші були витрачені, але Трамп тоді вирішив не інвестувати в кубинську економіку.

Раніше Трамп звинуватив Google в змові з його конкурентом Хілларі Клінтон.

За його словами, пошуковик нібито відсіює погані новини щодо його суперниці.
