Дональд Трамп в понедельник был официально избран Коллегией выборщиковв качестве президента США.

Выборщики подтвердили результаты голосования на выборах 8 ноября, проголосовав за Трампа во всех штатах, в которых он получил большинство голосов. Всего за Трампа было отдано 304 голоса, только два выборщика-республиканца из штата Техас не поддержали его, пишет Радио Свобода

Демократ Хиллари Клинтон получила 227 голосов. В штате Вашингтон 4 выборщика-демократа проголосовали не за победившую в этом штате Клинтон, а за других лиц. В штате Гавайи один голос был отдан за соперника Клинтон по праймериз – Берни Сандерса.

Число членов Коллегии выборщиков равно числу членов обеих палат Конгресса США – 538. Каждый штат представлен пропорционально численности его населения. Для избрания президента необходимы были 270 голосов.

Нынешние президентские выборы в США сопровождались скандалом, связанным с компьютерными атаками на Демократическую партию, предположительно, организованными российскими спецслужбами. Ряд активистов в связи с этим призывали выборщиков-республиканцев отказаться от поддержки Трампа.
