Рішення про відкликання послів торкнеться тих, "призначення яких було політично мотивоване".

Видання зазначає, що "політичні" посли, призначені на посади через свої тісні зв'язки з президентом, практично завжди залишають пости після виборів, але професійні дипломати найчастіше залишаються на чолі дипмісій.

Це може стати прецедентом, коли дипломатам не дадуть навіть невеликий відстрочки перед звільненням. Зазвичай нова адміністрація продовжує роботу старих послів на кілька тижнів або місяців.

Відзначається, що Вашингтон найближчим часом може залишитися без послів в Німеччині, Канаді та Великобританії.

Джерело в команді Трампа зазначив, що це робиться для того, щоб переконатися, що всы "політичні" посли Барака Обами підуть в термін.
