Большинство конгрессменов США отказались поддержать реолюцию об импичменте президенту Дональду Трампу
 

За резолюцию проголосовала лишь часть "демократов" - 58 человек, "против" было подано 364 голоса, информирует "ДС" со ссылкой на "Радио Свобода".

Руководство Демократической партии осудило эту меру как "баловство" и пустую трату времени, поскольку доминирующее положение в Палате представителей принадлежит сегодня Республиканской партии.

Резолюцию о досрочном прекращении полномочий Трампа инициировал конгрессмен Ал Грин, представляющий свой округ в Техасе уже 14 лет. Он собирался сделать это еще в октябре, но тогда коллеги отговорили его. Трамп, по словам Грина,наносит огромный вред американскому обществу.

"Он - расист, возбуждающий в народе ненависть, своим поведением он посрамил институт президентства, и потому заслуживает отстранения от должности", считает конгрессмен.

В ответ Белый дом распространил заявление, в котором назвал Грина и его сторонников "экстремистами", которые отказываются признать "впечатляющую победу Трампа на прошлогодних выборах".
