Российский портал "Sputnik Латвия" получил официальное уведомление о закрытии ресурса в доменной зоне .lv, сообщается на официальном профиле Sputnik в социальной сети Facebook. В настоящий момент ресурс стал доступен в доменной зоне .com.
 

Министерство иностранных дел Латвии обратило внимание компетентных органов на то, что регистрация домена Sputniknews.lv может быть нарушением установленного в ЕС режима санкций, поскольку Sputniknews.lv связан с информационным агентством "Россия сегодня". Руководит агентством известный российский телеведущий Дмитрий Киселев, который включен в санкционный список ЕС. Об этом порталу Delfi сообщил советник министра иностранных дел Латвии Мартыньш Дрегерис.

Пресс-служба "Sputnik Латвия" сообщает, что, согласно официальному письму доменного регистратора NIC, ссылающегося на запрос МИД Латвии, "регистрация доменного имени sputniknews.lv является нарушением условий Постановления Совета ЕС об ограничительных мерах в связи с угрозой территориальной целостности, суверенитета и независимости Украины". В письме говорится, что нарушение норм указанного Постановления может стать основанием для привлечения к уголовной ответственности в соответствии c Уголовным кодексом Латвийской Республики.
