В среду, 3 июня, в Латвии пройдут выборы президента. В первом круге голосования, которое сегодня проведут в Сейме, будут оценены четверо кандидатов: выдвинутый Союзом "зеленых" и крестьян Раймонд Вейонис, представитель Нацобъединения Эгил Левитс, Сергей Долгополов ("Согласие") и Мартиньш Бондарс (Латвийское объединение регионов). Нынешний глава государства Андрис Берзиньш бороться за свое переизбрание отказался,сообщает Delfi.lv
Парламент соберется на внеочередное заседание в 10:00. Один из кандидатов должен получить поддержку большинства (51 из 100) депутатов. Если же в первом туре голосования ни один из кандидатов не наберет необходимого для избрания числа голосов, то, согласно регламенту Сейма, проводится еще одно голосование. Если и тогда никто не будет избран, то начинается "игра на выживание" — раз за разом будут исключать самого непопулярного (получившего меньше всего голосов) кандидата.
