Национальный совет электронных СМИ Латвии (NEPLP) обратился к британскому ТВ- и радиорегулятору Ofcom с просьбой оценить возможные нарушения закона в передаче "Место встречи" телеканала НТВ "Мир". Об этом сообщает пресс-служба совета, передает Делфи
 

NEPLP сообщает, что 20 апреля в эфире НТВ "Мир" была показана передача "Место встречи", посвященная возможному возрождению нацизма в Европе. В одном из сюжетов председатель Сейма Латвии Инара Мурниеце была названа неонацисткой, которая известна благодаря своим ультра-правым взглядам и негативному отношению к России.

Представили совета отмечают, что сюжет носил тенденциозный характер, а факты были искажены - в частности, утверждалось, что Мурниеце принимала участие в марше легионеров 16 марта и возложила цветы на могилы нацистов. Закадровый текст о возложении цветов сопровождался видеорядом, где Мурниеце в 2015 году возлагает цветы в Киеве, на Майдане.

NEPLP отмечает, что в сюжете телеканала нарушен латвийский закон об электронных СМИ, а также кодекс вещания электронных СМИ, установленный британским регулятором. Согласно кодексу, мнения и факты не должны вводить в заблуждение.

Ранее уже сообщалось, что Латвия ввела ограничения на вещание телеканала РТР-Планета, а также попыталась ограничить работуинтернет-сайта "Спутник".
