Проект Pigeon Air Patrol призван показать жителям британской столицы, насколько загрязнен воздух Лондона. Данные об атмосфере собирают голуби-разведчики, у которых на спине прикреплен специальный датчик, сообщает РБК

К птицам прикрепляют небольшие, приспособленные для голубей рюкзачки с сенсорами. Набор датчиков отслеживает состояние озона, содержаниее летучих соединений, кислорода и углекислого газа. Весит это оборудование вместе с GPS всего 25 грамм, так что голубям не мешает.

Сколько птиц задействовано в програме патрулирования лондонского неба организаторы не сообщили.

Глава проекта Pigeon Air Patrol Пьер Дюкень рассказал, что главная миссия "голубиного патруля" - показать людям, насколько плохой вокруг воздух. "Когда мы говорим о загрязнении воздуха, то обычно сразу думаем о Пекине или других местах, но реальность такова, что в некоторые дни токсичность воздуха в Лондоне превышает пекинскую в разы", - говорит Пьер.
