Відомий французький режисер і продюсер Люк Бессон завів акаунт у Twitter для того, щоб розповідати про роботу над новим фільмом. У першому  повідомленні він анонсував початок роботи. Режисер готується екранізувати комікс "Валеріан і місто тисячі планет". Бессон виступить і сценаристом, і режисером, пише Gazeta.ua

"Це мій перший в житті твіт - давайте ділитися справжніми новинами! Моїм наступним фільмом стане "Валеріан", - написав режисер.

Комікс "Валеріан" був створений французькими авторами П'єром Крістеном і Жан-Клодом Мезьє в 1967 році. Він розійшовся мільйонними тиражами і був перекладений 21 мовою. Головні герої коміксу Валеріан і Лаурелін, агенти Землі, які подорожують у часі та просторі і досліджують Сірт - центральну планету системи Тисячі світів, - щоб дізнатися, чи становлять сіртіане загрозу для землян.

Зйомки "Валеріана" розпочнуться в кінці 2015 року, у прокат фільм вийде в 2017.
