Гроші були перераховані двох лобістських фірм у Вашингтоні, передає depo.ua з посиланням на Associated Press.

Агентство відзначає, що джерело повідомило відповідну інформацію на хвилі критики Трампа у зв'язку з його дружніми випадами на адресу російського лідера Володимира Путіна. Крім того, ці відомості дозволяють поглянути на бізнес Манафорта в іншому світлі.

За американськими законами лобісти повинні декларувати доходи, одержувані від співпраці з іноземними клієнтами. Порушення тягне за собою позбавлення волі строком на п'ять років та сплату $250 тисяч штрафу.

У середу, 17 серпня стало відомо, що Трамп замінив Манафорта на посаді голови свого виборчого штабу. Новим головою став шеф-редактор американського консервативного видання Breibart News Стівен Беннон.
