За інформацією видання, Пол Манафорт почав працювати на росіян ще у 2004 році та був тісно пов'язаний з російським олігархом Олегом Дерипаскою
 

Про це пише Еспресо.ТВ із посиланням на The Wall Street Journal.

"Колишній глава передвиборного штабу Дональда Трампа Пол Манафорт не тільки працював політичним консультантом російської сторони довше, ніж заявляв до цього, а й був пов'язаний з Олегом Дерипаскою", - пише видання.

Видання зазначає, що співпраця Дерипаски з Манафортом відбувалася щодо України, Грузії та Чорногорії.

"Манафорт почав працювати на російську сторону ще в 2004 році. Це тривало до 2015 року, а в наступному році він очолив передвиборний штаб Дональда Трампа", - пише видання.

Раніше в Конгресі США, який розслідує спроби Росії вплинути на президентські вибори в країні, відмовилися надати Олегу Дерипасці імунітет в обмін на його свідчення.

Сам бізнесмен заперечує наявність фінансових зв'язків з Манафортом. Сам він говорить, що багато років назад розірвав відносини з Полом Манафортом та немає з ним жодних контактів.
