Член парламенту Сергій Мельничук у коментарі ВВС Україна пояснив трильйон гривень у своїй е-декларації бажанням привернути увагу до корупції в країні.

"Я цю суму сплановано показав. Хотів привернути увагу світової спільноти, що декларації легалізують корупційні гроші. Це ті ж офшори виходять", - заявив пан Мельничук.

Він уточнив, що е-декларації дають можливість легалізувати "награбоване в народу за 25 років". Найбільше це стосується чиновників, які не мали бізнесу, але показали мільйони.

Сергій Мельничук в останній вечір хотів змінити цифри у декларації. Проте не зміг це зробити з технічних причин.

"Система мені не дала цього зробити. Я виправлю, щоб не було кримінальної відповідальності. Є сім днів на зміну даних, я це зроблю", - запевнив він.

За неправильні дані у е-декларації передбачена кримінальна відповідальність - два роки ув'язнення.

В оновленій декларації він вкаже про наявність у 2015 році в нього 10 мільйонів гривень.

"То були не особисті кошти, а допомога", - додав Сергій Мельничук. Він твердить, що вже витратив їх на допомогу бійцям АТО та їхнім сім’ям.

Сергій Мельничук у минулому був командиром добровольчого батальйону "Айдар".

Він обраний за списком "Радикальної партії", але покинув її та увійшов до групи "Воля народу".

Пан Мельничук перебуває під слідством за звинуваченням у заволодінні чужим майном під час подій у зоні АТО.

Сергій Мельничук заперечує ці звинувачення.
