Представители немецкой партии Христианско-демократический союз(ХДС) заявили вчера, что их лидер — канцлер Германии Ангела Меркель — готова баллотироваться на четвертый срок. По данным однопартийцев Меркель, с таким заявлением политик выступила вчера на закрытом заседании президиума ХДС в Берлине, а публично должна сообщить об этом в воскресенье вечером. Ранее о ее возможном выдвижении на четвертый срок сообщил в интервью телеканалу CNN политик из ХДС Норберт Реттген, передает Сегодня.
Согласно опросам общественного мнения, несмотря на кризис с восточными беженцами, Меркель остается самым популярным политиком в Германии. На сегодня ее переизбрания хотят 55% немцев, против — 39%.
Если фрау канцлер удастся удержаться на своем посту по итогам парламентских выборов в 2017 году, она приблизится к рекорду Гельмута Коля. До сих пор только ему удалось пробыть на посту канцлера четыре срока — с 1982 по 1998 год. Впервые Меркель стала канцлером Германии в 2005 году.
