Федеральный канцлер Германии Aнгела Меркель входит в число наиболее вероятных претендентов на получение Нобелевской премии мира благодаря своей позиции по проблеме беженцев, сообщает агентство Bloomberg со ссылкой на данные аналитических и букмекерских компаний, пишет Сегодня

"Ангела Меркель взяла на себя руководящую роль в довольно деликатной европейской дискуссии и озвучила четкую нравственную позицию", что помогло переломить ход дебатов, завил директор Peace Research Institute в Осло Кристиан Берг Харпвикен.

Среди потенциальных лауреатов премии букмекеры также называют священника из Эритреи Мусси Зераи (Mussie Zerai), который оказывает помощь беженцам; папу римского Франциска, поставившего борьбу с бедностью во главу угла своей деятельности; российское издание "Новая газета" и гинеколога из Конго Дениса Мукенгере Муквеге, работающего с жертвами сексуального насилия.

Нобелевский комитет в Осло назовет лауреата премии 9 октября.

В прошлом году премию мира вручили 17-летней пакистанской активистке и борцу за права детей Малале Юсуфзай и 60-летнему индийскому активисту и врачу Кайлашу Сатьярти, который 35 лет борется за освобождение детей от рабского труда.
